Why we start with mapping, not spraying

The most valuable thing a drone can do in year one is not apply anything. It is to tell you the truth about your field, in writing, before you spend a naira on inputs.
Spraying is the service everyone asks for first, and it is the one we deliberately do not lead with. Not because it is unprofitable — it is potentially the most profitable thing Ifenri could sell — but because in Nigeria it sits behind a regulatory sequence that nobody should try to shortcut.
Reports from May 2026 describe drone operators needing an End-User Certificate from ONSA before approaching the NCAA for a permit, followed by registration, a commercial operator certificate and pilot licensing under the relevant Nig.CARs parts. That sequence may well have changed again by the time you read this. We treat it as a list of questions to ask the regulators, not as settled law.
Mapping and scouting need none of it. They need a registered drone, a competent pilot, insurance, and a farmer who wants to know what is happening in their field. That is a service we can sell this month, legally, and it produces the dataset that makes every later service better.
There is a second reason. A crop-health map is a claim you can be wrong about, in public, and be corrected. If our pest-risk zone is wrong, the agronomist sees it, the farmer sees it, and the model improves. Spraying gives you no such feedback loop — by the time you know the dose was wrong, the chemical is already on the field.
So the order is: map the hectare, prove the report changes a decision, then earn the right to touch the crop.

Tell us your crop, your hectares and where you lose money today. We will tell you honestly whether Ifenri can improve that hectare yet — and if we cannot, we will say so.
